The order is worth just over half a million pounds and forms part of a £1.2m investment in plant and equipment by the company this year.

As part of the deal, Champion Hire is taking a range of Kubota machines in the one to three tonne category.  This includes 10 each of the Kubota K008 tracked excavators, KX016-4 and KX61-3.

Champion Hire operates out of five depots across Yorkshire and the north Midlands. Managing director Keith White said: "Demand from our customers is continuing to grow across the region, as the economy recovers, and we shall be adding many more items to our plant fleet over the coming months. It promises to be a very busy year."

John Coulson, manager of Champion Hire’s Leeds/Bradford depot, added: “We have seen a significant rise in demand for plant and equipment hire since Christmas and this continues to gather pace on a monthly basis.”
