Three more join Build UK

30 Jan 17 Build UK, the trade association whose reach spreads from specialist subcontractors to major contractors and client organisations has signed up three more members.

Property developers Derwent London and British Land have joined Build UK, making it now eight construction client businesses on board.

Also joining is Keltbray, the demolition-to-piling specialist group.

Build UK chief executive Suzannah Nichol said: “2016 was a fantastic year for Build UK as we brought together the full contracting supply chain for the first time. Beginning 2017 with three new members who are committed to working together is a brilliant start and I can’t wait to see how we continue deliver change to the benefit of the whole supply chain.”

Derwent London head of development Richard Baldwin said: “Derwent London is pleased to see that, through Build UK, the industry is finally joining up to collaborate. As a significant investor, we want to be involved in the groundswell of change that Build UK is facilitating to achieve better outcomes for all.”

British Land head of construction Richard Elliott said: “We look forward to partnering with Build UK to build on what the organisation has already achieved and to effect further change across the construction industry.”

Keltbray chief executive Brendan Kerr said: “There is a growing acknowledgment of the reliance on Specialist Contractors in the supply chain, demonstrating that contractors such as Keltbray are critical to the success of a project. It is important that as a £375m group we play our role in solving the industry’s challenges through Build UK.”
