Mark Butler takes responsibility for business development at Toppesfield to help the firm continue its recent growth trajectory.
Mr Butler was commercial director at EM Highways for 16 months until June 2014. His previous employers include Flowline, Atkins, Accord and Thames Water. He began his career as a trainee with Amey Construction where he graduated as a quantity surveyor.
Toppesfield’s current workload includes M1 Junction 19 improvements for Skanska Construction and the A421 at Milton Keynes for Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering. It is also involved with several Highways England asset support contracts (ASCs). These projects are contributing to the company doubling its annual turnover to £80m this year.
Toppesfield CEO and founder, Matthew Pryor, said: “Our track record of profitable growth is evidence of our success in putting in the right bids for the right contracts. However, we don’t rest on our laurels or believe that we already have all the answers and Mark will be a valuable addition to our team. We expect his experience to lead to even more high profile project wins, which will build on the very strong foundation we have laid over the last 11 years.”
