Trio of US wins for Skanska

13 Aug 13 Skanska has signed three contracts in the USA worth a combined value of US$320m (£206m).

Largest of the contracts is a US$189m (£122m) project for the Transbay Joint Powers Authority involving structural steelwork for the Transbay Transit Center in San Francisco. Skanska will supply and erect 24,000t of steel in the scheme, which is part of the major Transbay project. Work will begin immediately with completion scheduled for autumn 2015.

Skanska has signed a contract with American University to construct the school’s new east campus in Washington DC. The contract value is US$78m (£50m). Skanska is responsible for providing construction management services to build the East Campus’ six new buildings, which collectively total nearly 32,000m2. The new campus buildings will open for occupancy in fall 2016.

Completing the hat-trick is a deal with the University of Kentucky for the expansion and renovation of its Gatton College of Business & Economics building. The US$53m (£34m) project will consist of additions with a total area of about 5,500m2 and about 13,000m2 of renovations. Work will begin in November with anticipated completion in March 2016.
