Turner & Townsend renews free school role

16 Jul 13 Construction consultant Turner & Townsend has been given a place on the Education Funding Agency’s (EFA) technical adviser framework for the delivery of free schools.

Turner & Townsend will be providing project management and technical advisory services, both for the government and as independent design and technical advisers for the developers of the new schools.

Turner & Townsend technical teams will be undertaking feasibility studies and providing advice on planning, design, procurement and construction.

Turner & Townsend has already been awarded more than 15 school projects to manage under this framework, following the delivery of a further 30 free schools under the previous two frameworks. A further 40 schools are also in the design/procurement/construction stages.

Director Paul Maitland said: “Providing this kind of full turnkey service, from planning, procurement, construction management to building handover is hugely rewarding and we look forward to delivering new schools for the UK.”
