Veidekke wins Bergen light rail contract

28 Jun 13 Veidekke has signed a contract with Bergen Light Rail Development & Construction to construct 2.7km of double track from Lagunen to Sandslivegen in Norway.

The project is worth NOK634m (£67.8m) and includes a bridge, two stations and three tunnels. It is the largest contract in the third and final construction phase of the city’s light rail.

The contract includes the 60m Steinsvik Bridge, three tunnels with a total length of around 1.9km as well as stations at Råstølen and Sandslivegen. Veidekke will start work in August and the project is scheduled for completion in October 2015. This is Veidekke's third contract for Bergen Light Rail. 

Bergen Light Rail will stretch 20km between Bergen City Centre and Flesland Airport.
