Vinci wins 400km of pipeline projects

28 Nov 14 Vinci Construction subsidiary Spiecapag has won a trio of pipeline contracts in Australia and Colombia.

Australian gas operator has awarded a joint venture of Spiecapag and Lucas a AU$60m (£33m) contract for the construction of the Eastern Goldfield Pipeline, a 300km gas pipeline in about 1,000 km to the east of Perth. It will cross a near-desert region to fuel an electrical power plant for the Sunrise Dam and Tropicana gold mines operated by AngloGold Ashanti. The work will be carried out between March and November 2015.

In Colombia, Ecopetrol has awarded a Spiecapag-led joint venture with Ismocol a contract for the construction of the first 37km section of an oil pipeline to the south-east of Bogota, with an option to construct an additional 40km section.

Also in Colombia, Pacific Stratus awarded the Golfo de Morrosquillo (CGM) consortium headed by Spiecapag a contract for a project to export natural gas, including the construction of an 80km onshore gas pipeline and a 4km offshore gas pipeline, as well as civil engineering for a maritime terminal and construction of its structures. The two projects are worth a total amount of US$180m (£114m).
