Wacker acts on floor saw HAVS risk

12 Mar 15 Wacker Neuson has reworked its petrol-driven floor saws so that they can be used all day without the user risking hand arm vibration syndrome (HAVS).

The new floor saw series from Wacker Neuson includes the four models BFS 735, BFS 940, BFS 1345 and BFS 1350 with blade diameters from 350mm to 500mm.

The new models are now below the exposure level of 5m/s² specified by the EU and can therefore be operated for up to eight hours per day.

The wheel base has also been adjusted: a wide track with a short wheel centre distance has improved stability and controllability, Wacker Neuson says.

Cutting depth is adjustable from 120mm to 195mm. Long wet cut phases are made possible by the water tank, which is 20 litres on the smallest model BFS 735 or 32 litres for all other models. All models are powered by Honda petrol engines and the bearings require no lubrication.
