The vendor was Canadian group Atco, which has its roots in trailers and mobile homes.
Based in Banbury, Oxfordshire, Atco UK has annual turnover of £2.5m. Its fleet of around 1500 portable buildings and cabins will be absorbed within Wernick Hire’s nationwide depot network.
Wernick Group chairman David Wernick said: “We are delighted to acquire Atco UK, a company that shares our focus of providing high quality products and services. The deal represents a continuation of our policy to expand through both acquisition and organic growth, backed by an industry leading building quality and service excellence.”
Wernick Hire has invested more than £40m in the last two years in acquisitions, building fleet and freehold sites for depots.
