Worcestershire sticks with Ringway for highway maintenance

17 Dec 13 Ringway has retained its highways maintenance service contract with Worcestershire County Council for at least another six and a half years.

There is the potential for an extension of a further six years, if it meets its targets.

Contact value is estimated at between £20m to £30m a year.

Ringway Worcester, working on behalf of Worcestershire Highways, has been operating the current highways and vehicle maintenance contract since 2005. The new combined highways maintenance service contract will see Ringway providing highway maintenance for the county’s 4,061km of roads, 3,250km of footways, 1,330 bridges and structures, 105,150 drainage gullies, as well as road signs, road markings, cyclical maintenance and winter service delivery. Ringway will also manage and maintain the council’s fleet of vehicles.

Ringway Worcester divisional manager Dave Rowley said: “We are obviously delighted to have retained this prestigious contract and are looking forward to continuing to deliver a first class highways service to the council and residents alike.”
