Planned Works, Design and Installation of Kitchens and Rewires
Housing Services manages and maintains over 28000 homes across all wards in the City. Of these homes an estimated 500 will receive new designed Kitchens with kitchen rewire per year for the next 3 years. Of those 500 an estimated 100 will require a full rewire as part of the works. The Council wishes to appoint an experienced Contractor who are members of the considerate construction scheme or equivalent, to carry out design and kitchen replacement and Rewires as ordered by BCC. The rewires are subject to those requiring renewal. There will be no guarantee of rewire works for any successful Contractors on this Contract. The duration of the Contract will be for 3 years with the option to extend for up to a further 1 year, subject to agreement with the Council and the provider. Any work or call off ordered under the Contract shall be governed by the JCT Measured Term Contract 2016 / JCT Minor Works Building Contract 2016.
The contract will be for one contractor to annually carry out the design and installation of 500 domestic kitchens (inset sink, units, worktops, tiles, decorations) and rewire of the Kitchen as per the specification, in council owned properties managed by Landlord Services. The work will include arranging access, surveying the property, designing the kitchen layout and or locations of electrical sockets, obtain approval for the design from the Project Manager prior to commencement of any work. Works will be issued off a schedule of rates and subject to the tendered rates.
Design and full rewire including consumer unit replacement as per the specification to houses/flats as required/requested. This can be for occupied or empty Council owned domestic properties and for property where no Kitchen replacement is taking place. The work will include arranging access, surveying the property, designing the kitchen layout and or locations of electrical sockets, obtain approval for the design from the Project Manager prior to commencement of any work.
Option to extend for 12 months.

This tender process was subject to EU procurement rules and was advertised in OJEU, Contract Notice. The Public Contracts Regulations requires all tendering authorities to meet the following requirements following the conclusion of the award process.
— Provide a ten-day standstill period between the notification of the award decision and the conclusion of the contract with the council’s selected bidder(s).
— Notify bidders of the results of their tender and the reasons why their tender was not successful.
— Provide bidders the opportunity to seek further feedback on the evaluation of their tender. If further feedback is required please raise a clarification question through the Proactis Supplier Portal.
