The contract is to provide a Handy Person Service to individuals in the London Borough of Redbridge. The main duties of the service are:

• identify needs of resident that require signposting to other services;

• complete works including:

• minor plumbing or electrical repairs;

• fitting shelves;

• installing smoke or carbon monoxide alarms;

• fitting grab rails or banisters;

• installing key safes;

• re-fixing loose carpets;

• rehanging curtains; and

• replacing light bulbs.

Description of renewals:

The contract shall commence on 1 April 2021 and, subject to satisfactory performance and available funding, shall operate for a period of three (3) years, terminating at midnight on 31 March 2024 (‘the Contract Period’). At the sole discretion of the authority and subject to the satisfactory performance of the contractor, the contract period may be extended by the authority in such period or periods as the authority deems appropriate up to a maximum of two (2) years, providing a total possible contract period until midnight on 31 March 2026.
