Hyundai fills a gap with short-swing 13-tonner

The 13-tonne HX130 LCR is the latest compact-radius excavator model in Hyundai’s HX series.

The HX range began in 2015 and this is the 15th model of the series to come into production and the third compact-radius one.

Hyundai says it fills an important gap in its excavator line-up as market demand is growing for compact-swing machines in this weight class.

It is available in standard HX130 LCR configuration (pictured) and LCRD variant with dozer blade.

It is powered by a 55 kW Perkins 854F Stage IIIB compliant diesel engine with diesel particulate filter. No SCR, no AdBlue.

Standard operating weight is 12,930 kg, or 13,560 kg for the LCRD.

Maximum dig depth is 5.57 metres and digging reach is 8.22 metres. Bucket digging force reaches 10,369 kgf.

The standard bucket is 0.59 m³ capacity and 1,030 mm wide.

Standard features include an 8-inch (203 mm) interactive, adjustable, touchscreen cluster-monitor in the cab. Options include the Hyundai AAVM (All-Around View Monitoring) system that provides a 360° virtual operating view with Intelligent Moving Object Detection.

The hydraulic system includes Boom Float mode for better grading control, Fine Swing mode for improved load control when swinging, and up to 13% faster cycle speeds than previous models, Hyundai says.

The HX130 LCR also has Intelligent Power Control (IPC) computer-aided power optimisation based on load demand, and Eco Breaker mode for selectable pump flow and improved fuel consumption when working with attachments.
