A Kramer 880 wheeled loader has been put to work at Nordic Recycling’s facility on Tilbury Docks in Essex to handle dry recyclables in areas where space is at a premium.

Delivered by Exeter based Denbow International on a four year contract, the Kramer loader is now part of a five machine fleet at Tilbury supplied and operated by Denbow. The fleet is currently working two shifts from 6 am to 11 pm, 5 days per week and handling a total of some 1000 tonne of waste every week.

Nordic Recycling is one of the UK’s largest independent waste management companies and is owned by Forth Ports, a major UK port operator. This ownership provides Nordic with a unique set of capabilities in relation to the collection, recycling, treatment and export of bulk materials.

According to the company’s operations manager at Tilbury, Tahar Trabelsi, “The 880 has slotted-in very well to the operation and is performing beyond our expectations and easily keeping pace with the rate at which we need it to feed the baler plant to meet our high level of activity.”

The super-stable 4-wheel steer, 4-wheel drive Kramer loader is powered by a Deutz turbocharged and intercooled diesel engine developing 88 kW (120 hp) and offers a maximum payload of 4500 kg and an impressive load-over height of 3530 mm.
