The family-run business has been investing in Volvo since 1993; the company now operates a mix of thirteen Volvo excavators and loading shovels at both the Parley facility and a satellite facility in Southampton.
The new Volvo L110G, just delivered, joins recent excavators and shovels purchased in 2012 as the organics recycling and renewable energy firm grows from strength to strength.
“This latest acquisition is for a new development in our green waste recycling activities here at Parley,” says production manager Justin Dampney. “Having run Volvo shovels and excavators for so long now, we know what to expect in terms of the reliability. ” he continues.
The L110G features an 8 litre Tier IIIB compliant 258hp engine, optishift transmission and axles all designed and manufactured by Volvo. The new G model boasts a 20% increase in lifting force and 10% increase in breakout force over its predecessor. This coupled to the engine output with high torque at low engine rpm has resulted in faster cycle times and increased productivity. Two stronger, variable displacement load-bearing axial piston pumps and hoses have been introduced to handle the increased pressures. These provide superior control of the load and attachments, as well as high breakout force, faster lifting and tilt functions. A new hydraulic cooling system has been designed to reduce the working temperatures by up to 20oC over the F series model.
The machine delivered to Eco Sustainable Solutions features L5 heavy duty tyres to reduce the impact of wear, a reversible fan, turbo II pre cleaner, automatic lubrication and guarding around the working lights to counter the conditions on site.” says Justin.
