Featuring Tier 4 Interim engine technology, the CX145C SR and production CX235C SR offer a 17.5% fuel consumption improvement over previous models, with 7% faster cycle times.

Building on the Tier 4 Interim technology introduced in conventional C Series models last year, both models use innovative Isuzu diesel engines equipped with cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR) and a diesel particulate diffusor (DPD).  This results in reduced exhaust emissions in line with the latest regulations, and contributes to a 17.5% improvement in fuel consumption, Case says.

The short radius excavators share the same mode selection dial – Auto, Heavy and Superpower and also have an Auto-Power Boost function that contributes to a 7% reduction in cycle times.

Improvements to the hydraulic system include an increase in valve port diameters and in hydraulic piping diameter to aid flow. Systems including Auto Energy Saving, Boom Energy Saving, Spool Stroke Control and Idle Shut Down add to fuel efficiency.

The cab boasts 5.5% more legroom and visibilit7y has been improved by increased glazing and a repositioned wiper motor.

Pre-lubricated Case extended maintenance system (EMS) bushings are used as standard, extending the majority of greasing intervals to 1,000 hours. Remote greasing points and grouped filter locations provide optimum daily maintenance checks and rapid service access, Case says. Hydraulic oil change intervals are extended to 5,000 hours.
