TCI joins Plantworx as media partner

26 May 11 Companies planning to exhibit at the inaugural Plantworx construction machinery trade show met at the Stoneleigh Park venue yesterday to visit the site and hear details about planning for the event.

A raft of major manufacturers expressed support for the event, to be held in May 2013 and then every two years, alternating with the Hillhead event. Backers include Volvo, JCB, Thwaites, Bomag, Wacker Neuson, Merlo, Manitou, Altrad Belle and Terex.

The Construction Index has also joined the supporting team as a media partner for the event.

Booking is now open for exhibitor space, with static areas being sold at £30 per square metre and demonstration areas – including digging areas with no limit on digging depth – are £3 per square metre. Early bird discounts are available until 31 December 2011.

Approximately 100 companies were represented at the open day, where the organising team was also introduced. It is headed by event director Simon Frere-Cook, former secretary of the Royal Agricultural Society of England.

The first Plantworx will be held at Royal Agricultural Society’s Stoneleigh Park showground in Warwickshire, 14-16 May 2013.

Plantwork is owned by the Construction Equipment Association, which plans to expand the brand from a trade show to include conferences, seminars, product launches and other events.
