30-storey tower built in 15 days

The steel building stands on the shore of Dongting Lake in Hunan province. The company had previously built a six-storey building in a single day, and a 15-storey block in a week. Video http://bit.ly/ff10bc 

The latest tower has been designed to withstand earthquakes of magnitude 9 and its performance was verified through laboratory testing of a scale model last year.

The contractor worked round the clock to assemble the full-sized hotel tower in a 360-hour period.
