Administrators in at Midlands M&E firm

3 Feb 14 Wolverhampton-based Coalway Building Services Ltd is in administration.

Ian Gould and Christopher Rayment of the Birmingham office of BDO were appointed joint administrators on 24 January.

Coalway Building Services was set up in 1992 by two of its current directors. It reported turnover of £9m for the year to March 2013.

According to its website, the company has management and staff of 18 and a workforce of 80 operatives.

Clients have included main contractors such as Wates, Seddon, Lovell and McAlpine as well as numerous local authorities including Birmingham City Council.

It also provided M&E services on Thomas Vale’s construction of a Passivhaus primary school in Bradley, Wolverhampton last year.
