Work involves resurfacing, safety barrier renewal, bridge repairs, embankment repairs, replacing and installing new signs, repairing damaged kerbs and replacing road markings.
Highways England said that all of the work would be carried out overnight to keep disruption to a minimum and would be completed by summer 2016.
