Bison lands flooring deal for Selly Oak school

27 Oct 14 Bison Manufacturing has won a contract from Willmott Dixon to supply hollowcore flooring for the construction of the new University of Birmingham School.

Bison is supplying 8,700m² of its 200mm-deep hollowcore precast concrete flooring units and two flights of staircases measuring a total of 30m³.

The new secondary school and sixth form centre is being built in Selly Oak. It will provide education for up to 1,150 pupils aged between 11 and 18 and be one of the UK’s first university training schools. The school will also focus on developing new teachers, in conjunction with the university’s School of Education.
