Accommodation for up to 467 students, along with 288 sq m of ancillary retail, will be built by Bouygues UK on a site on St Mary’s Road in Southampton that has lain empty for more than 30 years.
Under the terms of the agreement, Knightsbridge Student Housing will fund the project and will market and manage the accommodation through The Student Housing Company.
Planning consent was granted in September 2014 and construction will start on site within the next few weeks, for completion by September 2016.
