Caddick Construction is ‘top of the class’ in Teesside

16 Jan 12 A £10m mixed use scheme in Middlesbrough, comprising a 249 bed student accommodation complex with 9,500 sq ft of retail on the ground floor has been completed by Caddick Construction.

The six storey design and build contract on Linthorpe Road, and named, “Linthorpe Hall 248”, was completed in advance of the 2011 academic year and accommodates students from Teesside University.

Richard Hird, Director of property development company Penza Properties Ltd, said: “The property is located on a main road in the town centre and is surrounded by shops, bars and pubs, which presented a number of construction challenges – access being the major one.  We also needed the development completed on time and on budget.  Caddick Construction were ‘top of the class’ on all counts and we were very pleased with the way they approached and delivered the project.”

Caddick Construction Managing Quantity Surveyor Chris Wilson said: “This has been a very interesting project to work on.  The town centre location and difficult access meant that we had to build from the inside out.  We were also very conscious of the client’s requirements to have the project completed by the beginning of the academic year and worked hard to meet their targets.  It has been a very successful project.”

Yorkshire-based Caddick Construction is part of the Caddick Group and operates across a number of market sectors including food manufacturing, retail, extra care, industrial/distribution, leisure, commercial and education.
