Chinese contractor picked for Africa’s tallest building

A consortium of China Railway Construction International and local contractor TGCC is to build a 250m-tall tower in Rabat, Morocco.

The building is claimed to be the tallest in Africa.

The US$380m (£291m) project will combine offices, a hotel and apartments. It is being designed to incorporate sustainable features.

China Railway has a 60% stake in the joint venture, which won the work in competition with six other international and domestic teams.
