The SEK 1,020m (£85m) contract for Trafikverket involves lowering of the E45 from Lilla Bommen and Marieholm by approximately 6m.
Half the distance will be decked over, creating opportunities for building on top of the tunnel roof. The remaining portion will be prepared for possible decking in future, said Peab regional manager Berth Larsson.
Construction will start this spring and the project is expected to be completed in 2020.
