Dunne starts third hospital car park

12 Aug 15 Dunne Building & Civil Engineering has begun a £10.5m contract for the design and build of the latest multi-storey car park at the new Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow.

Dunne’s scope of work includes post tensioned slabs, external envelope, cladding, glazing, floor coatings and M&E installation. When complete it will provide an additional 964 parking spaces at the new hospital campus. It is the third car park to be built at the new hospital.

A formal turf-cutting ceremony took place on Wednesday 5th August (pictured). In attendance were (shown left to right, above) Dunne construction director George Young and project manager Barry McGuire, NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde asbestos manager Moira Boyd, NHS senior project manager Hugh McDermott, Dunne managing director Patrick Reel, Edward Khan and Andrew Robertson from NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde, and Dunne chief executive Gordon Dunne.
