Custom House DLR station serves the ExCeL Exhibition Centre and the surrounding Docklands area. The plan is for the new station to be larger and have an additional level to integrate and provide an interchange facility with the new Elizabeth line (Crossrail) station at Custom House.

The Dyer & Butler site team starts the redevelopment on Friday 3rd February 2017 and has a programme finish date of January 2018.

The work will include taking down the existing station canopies and the installation of a new mezzanine deck above the DLR platforms, as well as two additional staircases. Around 400 tonnes of steel and 300,000 litres of concrete will be placed, necessitating the closure of the station during the works.
