The client is Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.
The college’s new sports centre will comprise a pair of four-court sports halls with supporting space, gym, performance lab, 25m eight-lane pool, a separate 17m X 7m pool and support space.
Completion is scheduled for September 2014.
Since 2005 the college has been working on a masterplan to redevelop its town-centre campus. This has seen the opening of a £14m University Centre, the £17m Beacon Centre and most recently the £7m Sir Bill Taylor Future’s Centre.
