Galliford Try lands deal for Old Trafford hotel

1 Mar 16 Galliford Try’s North West business has won a £12m contract with Lancashire County Cricket Club to build a hotel at the Emirates Old Trafford ground.

The project represents the final major piece of the Emirates Old Trafford redevelopment.

The 150-bedroom four-star Hilton Garden Inn hotel will replace the existing Old Trafford Lodge, and mirrors the design of The Point which sits on the other side of the Pavilion. The five-storey hotel will be operated by Lancashire County Cricket Club under franchise. It will also include a restaurant, café barand a fitness centre.

Galliford Try Building North West managing director Jim Parker said: “We are delighted to have been selected for this high-profile project at such a significant landmark for Trafford Borough and the North West. Our expertise in both the hotel and sports stadia sectors has put us ahead of the competition this time and we look forward to working with Lancashire County Cricket Club to produce top-class facilities and further enhance this iconic ground.”

Galliford Try built the high-profile Hotel Football at the other Old Trafford last year.
