Galliford Try picked for £50m Mailbox overhaul

10 Jan 14 Galliford Try has been selected as main contractor for a £50m redevelopment of Birmingham’s Mailbox shopping centre.

The plans, designed by architect Stanton Williams, include a new Harvey Nichols store and a three screen cinema. 

Galliford Try Central managing director Sean Bowles said; “It’s great news that we have been selected for such a prestigious project in one of Birmingham’s landmark buildings.”

Simon Samuels, partner at Brockton Capital, principal owner of The Mailbox, said: “Galliford Try has a proven track record in delivering complex construction projects in the retail sector, understanding the challenges of working to tight schedules and delivering in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining the highest standards. We’re looking forward to working closely with the team to deliver this exciting new, luxury retail experience for Birmingham and the Midlands.”

Work is expected to take 18 months to complete.
