The all-purpose 8,000m2 campus is scheduled to take 51 weeks to complete. Aecom is project manager and Fuse Studios is the architect.
The new building is on land that was purchased last year from Yorkshire Design Group in Leeds city centre.
College principal Ian Billyard said: “This much anticipated project will not only encourage further regeneration of the area, but will create an inspiring new campus that will serve a large proportion of our 7,500 students. “
GB Group has started the enabling works with vibro and pad foundations scheduled for February and March. Erection of the steel frame begins in the spring and the whole project should be completed by next January.
