Constructionline runs a supplier database on behalf of the government and regularly holds free ‘meet the buyer’ events to put subcontractors and smaller suppliers in front of clients and major contractors to promote business opportunities.

The Wembley event on 6th February  is set to be the biggest yet, it said, with more than 50 construction buyers having already signed up to attend. They include Kier, Lend Lease and Vinci as well as a range of public sector bodies in London and the surrounding areas.

Among the attendees will be London Construction Programme (LCP), a consortium of London local authorities that was set up to procure construction services. LCP will be recruiting for several framework agreements.

Attendees will hear from Lend Lease about opportunities to work on its £1.5bn Elephant & Castle regeneration scheme.

Constructionline managing director Gareth Kings said: “Despite the upturn in construction, finding and winning work continues to be a hard fought battle for SMEs, while those overseeing major programmes want to be assured that their supply network is reliable.

“This event will act as a valuable introduction between bothparties, providing networking opportunities and discussions around how they can best work together on the wealth of high profile projects in the pipeline.”

The event will run from 8.30am to 3pm on 6th February. For more information or to register interest, see www.constructionline.co.uk/events
