The Design Museum is moving from Butler’s Wharf to the former Commonwealth Institute, a 1960s building with a copper-clad hyperbolic paraboloid roof.

John Pawson Architects won a competition to redesign the interior and LJJ will carry out the mechanical and electrical installation on behalf of the project’s main contractor, Willmott Dixon Interiors.

LJJ will bring the electrical supply into the building and connect it to a new low-voltage 2000 amp switch panel which will form the building’s primary electrical supply and will also feed life safety systems. LJJ will also be responsible for the installation of all small power, data, A/V and lighting systems along with, heating, cooling and ventilation.
