LLJ wins Greenwich Peninsula M&E contract

7 May 15 Building services specialist LJJ has won the mechanical and electrical contract for a 161-apartment development on Greenwich Peninsula in London.

The project is part of Knight Dragon’s Greenwich Peninsula waterfront regeneration scheme.

LJJ will be involved in delivering one of the first residential projects there; a two-block development designed by architects, Jestico & Whiles.

The scheme involves a mix of studios, one- to four-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom duplex apartments with different levels of specification for the various property types – premium, key worker and social housing.

The electrical installation will include new switch gear, small power and lighting, with LED lighting throughout and PIR presence and absence detection in the common areas. LJJ will also install extensive cable management for fibre optic broadband and TV services to all apartments.

LJJ will also install silent smoke detectors linked to a fire service alert and automatic opening vents in the common areas. The company will also install a sprinkler system in the open-plan style premium apartments.

Each apartment will be fitted with an independent mechanical ventilation and heat recovery unit (MVHR) to maximise energy efficiency, with underfloor heating in the premium and key worker apartments and wall-mounted radiators in the social housing units.
