McLaughlin & Harvey has a £51m contract and joins Buckingham Group Contracting and Whitemountain as principal contractors on the airport’s redevelopment.

Buckingham Group Contracting has an £8m contract to construct a new 1,700 space multi-storey car park at the airport.
Whitemountain, part of the Lagan Group, was awarded a £13m contract in November 2015 to build a new bus interchange and improve drop-off facilities.

Future development works to the airport’s taxiway network will also start later this year with final completion in 2026.
The contractors were confirmed as transport secretary Patrick McLoughlin visited the site for an official ground-breaking of the combined £110m project.

McLaughlin & Harvey’s contract includes redevelopment of the terminal to increase capacity and double the number of shops. It will also extend the airfield taxiways to improve operating efficiency. Completion is expected in 2017.
