New southern MD faces customer service challenge at Bovis

Bovis Homes has appointed Steve Jones as the new managing director of its Southern region.

Steve Jones joins Bovis Homes with more than 30 years’ experience at house-builders including Crest Nicholson, St James Homes and Bellway. Most recently he served as a regional managing director for Churchill Retirement Living.

In his new role his main focus will be on Bovis Homes’ customer service driver in the region after recent controversy over the company’s policy of paying customers to move into new homes before they are finished, just to hit targets.

“In the coming months we will look to focus on our goals of further improving our customer service provision and working even closer with our supply chain partners to ensure we produce first class homes for happy customers,” he said.

“I’m delighted to join Bovis Homes at a time when the outlook for the region is very strong, with a great team of people already in place. We also have an excellent land bank in good locations where family homes are in much demand.”

James Watson, managing director of Bovis Homes’ East Division, of which the Southern region is part, said: “Steve’s appointment is a continuation of our drive to employ the best possible talent to take our regional teams forward. With his extensive experience, I have no doubt that he will pick up on the excellent progress made by the region over the past 12 months and drive this forward even further.”
