One Call Hire places £13m Cat order

12 Mar 14 One Call Hire has bought 242 new Caterpillar machines in a £13m deal with the Cat dealer Finning.

This year’s investment follows on from One Call Hire’s purchase of 154 Cat machines from Finning in 2013.

The 2014 deal includes 80 of the Cat 312E excavators, 72 of the Cat 308E2, 60 of the Cat 305E, 20 of the Cat 320EL HSR and six Cat D6T LGP dozers.

One Call Hire director John Fitzpatrick said: “With the construction industry growing again, we’re able to continue our investment in our plant hire fleet to meet the increased demand for hydraulic excavators in particular. The new Cat machines we have ordered all have emissions-friendly engines and enhanced hydraulic systems that improve cycle times, which meet our requirements of offering our customers ways to save on fuel costs and maximise efficiency.

Cat machines are renowned for their reliability and their build quality and each unit will offer us a guaranteed residual value after twenty-four months. The average age of our fleet is nine months; so working alongside Finning has enabled us to ensure we have a stronger and wider range of machinery available to customers.”
