Riney wins £36m Waltham Forest deal

4 Feb 14 Civil engineering contractor JB Riney & Co has won a £36m highway maintenance term contract with the London Borough of Waltham Forest.

The contract runs for an initial five years, with an option to extend it for a further three years.

Scope of work includes footway and carriageway maintenance works, structural maintenance and patching works, traffic schemes and highway improvements, road markings, anti-skid surfacing, gully cleansing service, winter maintenance service and emergency call out service.

At the same time, the council has selected Kier MG (formerly May Gurney) to deliver an integrated street lighting term contract. This deal, valued at £14.5m, is for eight years with an option to extend by up to two more years.
