RMD Kwikform supplies Indian hotel contract

12 Jul 12 RMD Kwikform India has provided shoring equipment and support services for the Ibis and Novotel development in Chennai.

The project uses its Rapidshor and Kwikstage shoring together with service and support.

Construction of Accor Hotel’s Ibis and Novotel building on Old Mahabalipuram Road in Chennai will create a facility with 190 and 160 rooms respectively. Construction is being undertaken by main contractor SSPDL Interserve Private.

“At RMD Kwikform we have always provided more than just an equipment solution to our customers, and on the Ibis and Novotel project this commitment combined with the quality of our shoring equipment is what secured us this contract,” RMD Kwikform India’s vice president Arul Raja. “Despite intense competition we were able to not only demonstrate we could supply the most effective shoring solution, but also the expertise and commitment to work with the contractor’s team to ensure they were fully trained and supported in erecting the equipment supplied by RMD Kwikform.”

SSPDL Interserve Private Ltd is a first-time user of the supplied equipment and RMD Kwikform India’s equipment specialists have provided training in using the equipment. “It was important to us to ensure that the onsite team has a full understanding on how to safely use the supplied equipment, including Rapidshor and Kwikstage,” said Raja. “If the team is trained to use the equipment correctly, then we are empowering them to work with it safely and effectively throughout the life of not only this project, but projects in the future.”
