The seven-storey Arts Building, covering 16,000m², forms the first phase of the University’s campus redevelopment masterplan.
The building, designed by architect Stride Treglown, will provide a new home for the departments of Music, Performing Arts, and Art & Design, which are currently spread across several sites.
Construction is due to start early next year for delivery in April 2014. Project cost is estimated at £35m.
The Salford University project team also includes Davis Langdon, Appleyard Trew , Buro Happold and Gifford.
