The larger of the two is the US$65m expansion of a hospital in central Texas. Skanska will oversee the construction of the 22,000m2, which will add seven floors and additional horizontal space to the existing hospital. Construction will begin this month and is expected to complete in September 2016.
The second contract is for the renovation of a residential apartment tower in Philadelphia. The US$49m contract involves upgrading one of four residential towers as well as approximately 2,600m2 of retail and amenity space. The scope includes the complete renovation of 239 apartments as well as replacement and upgrade of the plumbing, electrical and fire protection systems, repairs to the building’s entrance and underground parking and substantial enhancements to amenities including the pool area, retail spaces and landscaping. Construction is expected to be completed in November.
