Szerelmey aboard at Paddington’s new Crossrail Station
Stonework specialist Szerelmey, has been appointed to install various stonework finishes at Paddington’s new Crossrail Station, London in contracts worth in excess of £500,000.
Szerelmey’s work comprises Granite setts to the new taxi drop off areas and entrance concourses, limestone paving to the extended mainline platforms, high-spec terrazzo to the new LUL concourse and granite flooring to the LUL platforms. Screeding and miscellaneous metalwork also form part of Szerelmey’s contracts.
The new station is being built beneath Departures Road and Eastbourne Terrace. It has been designed to maximise space and natural light, and to preserve the features of the historic main line station.
Szerelmey expects to complete its work by in April 2012.
