The retirement of Michael Ellis on 31st December comes just weeks after Van Elle stock market flotation in October, which raised £40m.
Adrian Barden, the Van Elle’s senior independent director, now takes over as acting non-executive chairman. The board will consider whether to appoint a further independent non-executive director, alongside Adrian Barden and Robin Williams, in due course.
Mr Barden said: “Michael Ellis founded Van Elle 32 years ago and has played an instrumental role in establishing the Group as the UK's leading geotechnical contractor. The board is grateful for Michael's guidance and support in achieving the recent successful initial public offering of the group and wishes him well in his retirement.”
