Road trip for Dorothy's cutterhead
On the night of 21st/22nd September 2022 the front end of an HS2 tunnel boring machine undertook a road trip, above ground.
Having completed her first drive on HS2’s Long Itchington Wood tunnel, TBM Dorothy was dismantled and sent back to the starting gate for its second drive.
The 2.5-mile journey took 180 minutes.
