New trailer for Highway Plant

19 Jul 13 Redruth-based Highway Plant Hire has added its fifth Andover Trailers plant body to its fleet.

The new unit is a double crank beavertail mounted to a 26-tonne MAN TGS 26.360 rigid.

The bespoke-built LPPB26 body has hydraulic ramps surfaced in a mixture of timber and expamet, hardwood flooring and a remote control winch with snatch block and emergency-stop function positioned in the headboard.

As with the majority of Andover Trailers’ rigid bodies, the body has a deck height up to five inches lower than a regular plant body, enabling Highway Plant to benefit from low ramp and beavertail approach angles, which aids the loading and unloading process.

Highway Plant director Ian Powell said: “We specify Andover Trailers bodywork on our trucks as it is built to last. Our teams perform multiple collections and deliveries with these vehicles every day, and they don’t miss a beat.  Just as our customers can rely on us to provide the best service, so too do we rely on Andover Trailers to keep our transport operation on the road.”
