Since the Control of Asbestos at Work Regulations became law in 2004 there has been a requirement for all non-domestic premises to have a Management Plan for Asbestos.
The initial work required to produce this plan is the carrying out of a survey to locate, identify and quantify any asbestos containing materials.
Since there are over 3500 products containing asbestos it is not easy to identify which materials contain asbestos.

There are two types of survey:
Management Survey
Standard sampling, Identification & Assessment Survey
(Sampling Survey). This has replaced what used to be known as Type 1 & Type 2 Surveys
This is HSE's preferred survey.
This survey positively identifies asbestos containing materials (ACMs)
Representative samples are collected and analysed to confirm or refute the Surveyor's judgement.
Refurbishment & Demolition Survey â?? Full Access Sampling & Identification Surveys.
This used to be called Type 3 Survey
This survey locates and describes all ACMs in the building and may involve destructive inspection to gain access to all areas. A full sampling programme is undertaken.
We are fully qualified & insured to undertake all surveys.
