Carillion places Gatwick subcontract with Prater

11 Apr 12 Carillion has called in external envelope specialist Prater as a subcontractor on its £45m Pier 5 redevelopment scheme at London’s Gatwick Airport.

Work on-site began in March 2012 and is estimated for completion in April 2014.

Prater’s package of works includes structural steelwork with all envelope requirements including Kalzip roofing, Trimo panels, stick curtain wall and louvres.

As previously reported, the redevelopment involves the construction of a new departures corridor above the existing pier as well as the reconfiguration of served stands, with new aircraft access fixed link bridges and new node buildings to serve the newly configured stands.
