Job Description

Are you a Construction Manager looking for a new opportunity or an experienced Project manager ready for that next step in your career?

Our client is looking for somebody to join their team working on a large civil engineering scheme in Hampshire. They are a well-established civil engineering company, who work on projects as a main contractor and have a good reputation for technical knowledge and delivery in the sectors they specialise in. As well as this they have a long term pipeline of works and are able to offer continuous work across the south of England as well as the chance for future progression.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on a unique and interesting scheme with a contractor that has a great culture, that looks after its people and can offer further simmilar work opportunities to the right candidate.

The Role

  • Build and maintain a motivated project/site teams,
  • Review the build-ability of designs as they are developed from concept, through outline, to detailed design, to ensure they can be constructed safely, compliant with environmental requirements within programme, within budget, and to a high quality standard that meets scope requirements.
  • Develop and review construction methodologies
  • Work with the planning permission team to produce construction related documents to discharge planning conditions for phases of work.
  • Support commercial team to prepare enquires and procure subcontract packages.
  • Manage subcontract packages, in accordance with the project procedures
  • Lead integration of Civils and Earthworks scopes
  • Ensure all HSE legislation and standards are adhered to on site
  • Ensure site operations comply with environmental legislation
  • Assist in the production of monthly progress reports for client
  • Raise early warnings and attend risk reduction meetings to discuss the best way to mitigate potential delays and increased costs.

The candidate

  • The ideal candidate will likely have heavy civils experience, especially within earthworks and water.
  • Degree or HND in Civil Engineering
  • Experience in Design & Build, and NEC4 form of contracts
  • Strong technical knowledge of current civil engineering, H&S and Environmental legislation
  • Full UK Driving Licence
