In 1863 Mr. Sigismund Pollitzer, London Paper agent, and Mr. John Beck established a general carrier and warehousing partnership at 211 Upper Thames Street. The partnership flourished.

By the turn of the century the Pollitzer family were in charge and moved to larger premises where the warehousing and wharfage business continued to grow. Riverside cranes were installed and horses began to give way to

steam traction engines, increasing carrying capacity and speed of distribution.

Beck & Pollitzer is now turning towards the future, developing a strong network of offices throughout Europe to make sure we are where the customer wants to go. The company is largely expanding in Central Europe to become a preferred partner for worldwide relocations.
