DXB Pump & Power expand Stage 5 range

10 Nov 22 DXB Pump & Power, the UK based manufacturer of advanced high efficiency pumps have expanded their range of Stage 5 emission compliant pumpsets used in sewage bypass and wastewater applications through the introduction of the compact 150mm portable pumpsets.

The smaller pump launched this month is the new WW250/15 pumpset which is a high efficiency six inch pump powered by only an 18.5kw Deutz Stage 5 engine but capable of generating flows in excess of 95l/sec or heads over 20m whilst still passing the most challenging solids contained in raw sewage.

Designed with the Cornell “Warrior” high efficiency cutter impeller operating at, the pump is capable of pumping 60l/sec at 15m with a 5m suction lift and still cut the most stringy solids seen in raw sewage pumping making it the most modern sewage handling pumpset developed in the last decade.

Powered by the Deutz D2.2L3 normally aspirated engine that generates all its power from a fuel efficient 1400rpm, DXB Pump has optimised its design to generate the industry standard performance using an engine half the size of the leading competitor reducing noise, fuel consumption, pollution and costs of operation not seen before in the UK pump hire industry.

Howard Bamaber, the DXB Integrate Hire Director who recently joined the DXB Group to head up their push into the new AMP7 business said, “ I am really excited by the launch of this new pumpset on to the UK market as there had been no new high efficiency sewage bypass pumpsets launched here since the AMP5 programme a decade ago and I know major contractors and pump hire companies are looking for more environmental Stage 5 solutions especially in urban application like United Utilities or Thames regions.”

With major water companies focusing on reducing their carbon footprint and the expected requirement of using “white” diesel in plant after Easter 2022, there has never been a more challenging time for pump hire companies to operate in the UK market and the new WW250/15 pumpset from DXB Pump & Power fits the application well especially as it uses less than 3.5 litres of fuel an hour giving it almost three days or run time on a tank.

At the other end of the performance range, DXB Pump is launching its high head, high flow WW600/60 pump again powered by a Stage 5 Deutz engine, but this time a six cylinder, 150kw TCD6.1L6 model from the German manufacturer.

Designed specifically for high flow/high head application such as those seen in major rising main bypass applications, this pump model will allow contractors to reduce the number of pumpsets on a temporary site by being able to pump over 180 litres a second at heads of up to 60m or the safe working limit of wire armoured hose using quick release couplings.

Designed again with the market leading Cornell “Warrior” cutter impeller, like all the models in the range the pumpset comes with the patented Cycloseal system in the pump end reducing seal failure caused by high amounts of sand and grit seen in sewage from recent and common storm water entering the drains.

Completed with the Deutz six-cylinder engine and DXB in-house designed control panels, the pumpset is able to operate remotely whilst monitoring all aspects of the pump condition including fuel in the tank, DEF in the Ad-blue tank as well as full engine and pump monitoring.

This data can then be read either on the digital control panel or sent by the integrated telemetry systems to the end users monitoring services whether they are mobile such as phone or tablet or even integrated into a rental company’s integrated plant monitoring software in a central location.

With integrated multiple SIM cards, DXB pumpsets use low cost data ground based technology to send packets of data on regular basis until perhaps in more remote locations where it has the capability bounce the data of a satellite and back down to the receiver, completely automatically.

Simon Ruffles, Managing Director of DXB Pump & Power that designed the pumpsets said, DXB now has a complete range of raw sewage pumpsets from 100mm to 250mm capable of handling the worst possible sewage with the cutter impeller but combining that with Stage 5 emission compliant engines that dramatically reduce fuel burn and emissions regardless of choice of fuel.”

He continued, “With the price of HVO fuel expected to rise along with white diesel, there is hug pressure on contractors, rental companies and end users alike to reduce the total consumption of fuel in many projects and by designing these pumpsets to run at lower RPM and use high efficiency cutter impeller, some of these pumps halve the fuel consumption of the major competitors on the UK markets.”
